Stoner Dies Suddenly At Her Home Sunday Was Apparently in Exellent Health. Death Was Due to Heart Attack? Mrs. H. C. Stoner died suddenly at her home in this city at about 19 o’clock Sunday evening. Her death, which was due to a heart attack was a severe shock to her family and friends, because she had been in apparent good health and during the day was in the best of spirits. The family visited relatives near Rolfe in the afternoon and in the evening, with a group of relatives, they attended the show here. Following the show they went to the Stoner home. They had been in the house only a few minutes when Mrs. Stoner collapsed. A physician was immediately called but she died before he arrived. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the home. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. Lawrence Shimon, A. C. Shimon, A. J. Shimon, Albert Drobney, Will Shimon, and Louis Shimon, all cousins of the deceased, were pallbearers. Anna M. Shimon was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mike Shimon, pioneer settlers of Pocahontas county. She was born in Pocahontas county, grew to womanhood here, and attended the rural schools. On May 26, 1914 she was united in marriage with Henry C. Stoner at Lake City, Ia, where they resided for a year. They returned to Pocahontas county where they have since resided. During the summer they built a new home in the west part of Pocahontas and on August 1, the family moved here from Rolfe. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stoner, one daughter Leta Mae and three sons, Calvin, Donald, and Richard. All reside at home. Besides her husband and four children she is survived by five sisters and two brothers. Her sisters are: Mrs. John Herdina of Pine City, Minn.; Emma Borecky of Madison, S. D.; Mrs. Ivan Borg of Gilmore City; Mrs. Harry Votlucka and Mrs. Clifford Cain of Pocahontas. The brothers are Frank J. Shimon of Rolfe and Joe of Pocahontas. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Emma Borecky and daughter Charlotte of Madison S. D., Lee L. Sernett and daughter Virginia of Hampton, Louis Stoner of Lake Park, Minn., Harold Stoner of Sioux City, and Fern Smith of Farmanville. Contributed by Ann Bowler, #46893124
