Description	:	Stratford Courier March 23, 1944 Mrs. Anna Layton Last rites for Mrs. Anna Layton were held in the Foster funeral home in Webster City on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. J.J. Share, Methodist pastor, in charge. Following the rites interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Anna Layton, daughter of Samuel and Mary Jane Dick McFarland, was born on a farm in the Harmony Center community March 27, 1869 and at her death March 17, 1944 was 74 years, 11 months, 20 days old. Mrs. Anna Layton, daughter of Samuel and Mary Jane Dick McFarland, was born on a farm in the Harmony Center community March 27, 1869 and at her death March 17, 1944 was 74 years, 11 months, 20 days old. She attended the rural schools and grew to young womanhood there and later was a rural school teacher. She married Oscar S. Layton Sept. 10, 1890 and for years they lived on a farm near Stratford. Later they moved into Stratford and this had been her home with the exception of three years during which they lived in Wichita, Kan. Her husband died in 1941 and she was also preceded in death by a daughter, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are one brother, Earl McFarland, of Stratford, and three sisters, Mrs. Walter Andrews of Lehigh, Mrs. Julia Near of Webster City and Mrs. Alta Campbell of Tampa, Fla.
