ANNA GOOS DIED YESTERDAY Born in Germany, LIved Here Nearly Half Century, Mother Many Children - A Stroke of Paralysis From Which She Rallied Some Months Since, But Decline Ends Life From Tuesday's Daily -- Mrs. Emma Goos, nee Miss Emma Mumm, at the advanced age of over seventy-six years, is called to her long home, yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Mumm. Mrs. Goos has enjoyed very fair health, until about a year since, she was stricken with paralysis, but from which she was recovered, and was able to return from Minneapolis, at which place she was at the time she was afflicted. Mrs. Goos was born in Germany, and was early in her womanhood united to Geo. Goos, and coming to America and to Plattsmouth in 1870, they lived just south of this city on a farm, the husband passing away in 1891. There were ten children born to this union of which eight have passed on and two remain, they being Mrs. Peter Mumm, living south of this city and Mrs. James Marasek, who makes her home at Grant, Nebraska. Mrs. Goos leaves two sisters, one in Germany, Mrs. Hans Kemp at Lockwood, Mo., and one brother John Mumm living in Wyoming. The funeral will occur from the home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. J. H. Steger of the St. Paul's church. The Plattsmouth Journal, October 21, 1918, Page 1: MRS. ANNA GOOS LAID TO REST Yesterday Afternoon Was Held The Funeral of This Pioneer Lady From Thursday's Daily -- A large crowd of the friends of Mrs. Anna Goos, who has for many years lived in this city and adjacent hereto, and who was known and loved by all, who has had the privilege of knowing her gathered at her late home just south of this city, to listen to the saying of the living utterances, which told of her noble life, and of the goodly deeds which she has done. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. J. H. Steger, of the church of which she was a member. The interment was made at Oak Hill cemetery west of the city.
