OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, November 22, 1923 Annie May, eldest child of Stephen and Isabelle Randall, was born in Fulton county, near St. Augustine, Ill., May 25, 1867. At the age of five years she, with her parents, moved to Jefferson county near Fairfield, Iowa, then some years later they came to Cedar township, in this county, where she grew to womanhood. On December 24, 1885, she was united in marriage to Frank H. Wright. After their marriage they went to their present home where she has resided until death came at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 18 days. To this union were born ten children, five boys and five girls, all of whom lived to manhood and womanhood and were with her during her last illness except Stephen Randall, who preceded her in death December 7, 1922. Those left to mourn her loss are Lee D., of Williamson; Mrs. Nellie Sherman, of Tracy; Mrs. Hazel Batten, of Olmitz; Belle, Amy, Laura, Charles, Earl and Herbert, all at home. Besides the children she leaves to mourn her death, her husband, two brothers and one sister, Eugene and James Randall and Mrs. Minnie Lutz, of this county, and nine grandchildren. The deceased united with the Bethel United Methodist church in 1905 where she retained her membership. She was stricken with paralysis in January 1923, but was able to be about until four days prior to her death when she was again stricken. All that medical aid and loving hands could do was done but her life gradually faded away Tuesday morning at 8:30 on November 13, 1923. She will be greatly missed in her home where she was ever a faithful companion and devoted mother and by the entire community where she was always a ready and sympathetic helper in time of trouble. Funeral services were conducted at the Bethel United Methodist church by Rev. Cornford, of Chariton, assisted by the local pastor, Rev. Myers. She was laid to rest at the Bethel cemetery.
