As for the groom, he is a young man whose honest, sterling integrity and strict attention to duties involving upon him has made for himself a name second to that of no man in this community. Bugbee; pair towels, Mr. and Mrs. Hall. ============================ Chester Herald (Chester, NE), Thursday, November 9, 1939; pg. 1 Arthur Dry, oldest of a family of seven children of Daniel Dry and Rebecca (sic) Mull Dry, was born in Allendale, Worth County, Mo., July 4, 1866, and passed from this life at his farm home southwest of Chester Oct. 31, 1939. His age at death was 73 years, 3 months and 27 days. In the spring of 1884, when he was a young man of 18, his family moved from Missouri to this community, and here has been his home for almost 56 years. On Sept. 21 (sic), 1893 he was married to Addie Frame. One daughter, Stella, was born to this union on May 3, 1898. She preceded her father in death, passing away in the year 1925. He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Harley Dry and William Dry, of Chester, and Edgar Dry of Bellevue, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Throne of Chester; Mrs. Ed Reeves of Byron; and Mrs. Albert Coleman of Boulder, Colo. He united with the Christian Church of Chester March 18, 1903, under D.G. Wagoner. He has been a member of the Official Board of the Church, either as Deacon or Elder, practically ever since. He was always faithful in his relations to the church, being regular in his attendance at all its services, at Bible School and at the mid-week prayer meeting, and most generous in his financial support. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge and enjoyed meeting with brother Odd Fellows when it was possible. Besides his immediate family, he leaves to mourn other relatives and a host of friends. A good husband, neighbor and friend has gone the way of the earth.
