Peter Vanderveen will officiate at the 2 p.m. services at the Klawitter Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Nelson Cemetery. The Klawitter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, April 22, 1965 =================== Arthur Fay "Commodore" Dean, son of Benjamin F. and Mary Josephine Dean, was born October 9, 1896 (NOTE: His stone states March 3; further research needs to be done on his), in Nelson, Nebraska, and departed this life April 20, 1965, at the Veteran's Hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska. Mr. Dean was a veteran of World War I, and was discharged from the United States Army March 21, 1919. He spent most of his life in Nelson, and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lillie Mae Reeve of Nelson, Nebraska, and two brothers, William Dean of Nelson, Nebraska and Benjamin H. Dean of Longsdale, California, as well as seven nephews, eight nieces, and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister. Services were held at the Klawitter Funeral Chapel in Nelson, with the Rev. Peter Vanderveen officiating. Mrs. H.B. Wehrman Sr. was pianist for the service and accompanied Mrs. Milton Ferebee and Mrs. Ivan Gharring, who sang a duet.
