Description	:	Charles Porter Dean (better known as "Chub") died very suddenly Monday evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dean, in East Nelson. He was born here in Nelson March 16th, 1886, and had grown up to a modest, unassuming and hard working young man. He had been ailing somewhat for some little time but not to the extent of being any alarm to his folks nor to the disable him from work. On Sunday he was over to the Blue. Read More	Charles Porter Dean (better known as "Chub") died very suddenly Monday evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dean, in East Nelson. He was born here in Nelson March 16th, 1886, and had grown up to a modest, unassuming and hard working young man. He had been ailing somewhat for some little time but not to the extent of being any alarm to his folks nor to the disable him from work. On Sunday he was over to the Blue. About six o'clock, after he had returned, he suddenly became very ill. The family physician was called and every thing done to bring about relief. But every effort proved inadequate and on Monday evening the patient collapsed and death soon claimed him. On Tuesday morning the several doctors of this place met at the home and held a post-mortem examination. This revealed a perforation of the duodenum, the result of an ulcer. The body was laid to rest in the village cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church (sic) Sunday morning, June 4th. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, May 25, 1905
