He came to Brown county, Kansas, in the spring of 1871 and was married to Cora B. Lyman, June 15, 1876, and afterward moved to Ford county, where he died of heart disease August 14, 1901, at 4 p.m., after which two weeks of confinement to the sick chamber. Read More	Aged 57 years 6 months 22 days Bucklin Banner, August 23, 1901 OBITUARY Asa Cobb was born in Crawford county, Ohio, January 22, 1844. He came to Brown county, Kansas, in the spring of 1871 and was married to Cora B. Lyman, June 15, 1876, and afterward moved to Ford county, where he died of heart disease August 14, 1901, at 4 p.m., after which two weeks of confinement to the sick chamber. He was converted to Christ in a series of meetings held by the evangelist, I. Guy Martin in March, 1898 and united with the M. E. church in Ford. He lived a consistent Christian and died in the triumph of faith, leaving a wife and six children, five sons and one daughter, the youngest of whom is 12 years of age. He ever spoke of his trust in the Lord in the most positive terms and his last uttered words were. "Praise the Lord." His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Ford after services in the M. E. church in which his favorite hymn, was sung, entitled, "Footsteps of Jesus," and a talk by the pastor on the text, "he that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne." A procession of over fifty vehicles followed his remains to the grave where the benediction was pronounced after singing, "We'll never say good-bye in heaven." T. B. Paramore.
