Description	:	Manson Journal February 27, 1950 Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Feb. 24 for August Vetter, from the home and St. Paul's American Lutheran Church with the Rev. W. E. F. Meier officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. During the service the church choir sang "Nearer, My God to Thee," In the Hour of Trial," and Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone." Rev. August Otto Dietrich Vetter, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Vetter was born near Manson on the 11th day of August 1895. He was baptized in the St. Paul Lutheran Church here and became a confirmed member on April 8, 1911. He was united in marriage with Ella Collmann on Dec. 28, 1916. This union blessed with five children, all of whom survive. They made their home on a farm 4 miles north of Manson until about 12 years ago when they moved to their present farm 8 miles northeast of here. The death came Tuesday morning, February 21, at the age of 54 years, 6 months and 10 days. His parents, one brother, Fred, and one sister, Mrs. Herman Freese, proceeded him in death.
