Description	:	The people of our quiet little city were shocked to the utmost last Sunday morning, when the news was spread around that Mrs. William Bumann had passed quietly to her eternal rest at 8:00 a.m. at her home in Schleswig. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. from the Bumann home and the remains laid to rest in the Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. The Rev. W. R. Wetzeler conducting the services. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. from the Bumann home and the remains laid to rest in the Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. The Rev. W. R. Wetzeler conducting the services. Mrs. Bumann had been ill for the past five weeks, having first been taken down with the flu, which later developed into pneumonia and against this ailment, she battled daily, assisted by the best medical skill and best nursing, but she fought a losing battle and the angel of death called her and relieved her from all earthly responsibilities on Sunday, January 5, 1919. She was 42 years old. Mrs. Bumann disposition was such that she made many warm and lasting friends, who always found her ready and willing to do her share in any social affair or function. August Krohnke was born August 20, 1877 in Morgan Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the daughter of John Henry and Anna (Suckstorf) Krohnke. She grew to womanhood and received her education in the rural school. On February 26, 1900, she was united in marriage to William Bumann in Schleswig. To this union was born one son, Julius. After their marriage, they moved to a farm near Battle Creek, where they resided unitl 1906, when they decided to move to Nebraska and located at Bloomfield. They remained there until 1910, when they again returned to Schleswig, where she made her home until her death. She leaves besides her husband; one son, Julius Bumann; one sister, Mrs. William (Mattie) Bielenberg; and one brother, John Krohnke, all of Schleswig. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Schleswig Leader, Jan 10, 1919
