Description	:	John H. Krohnke, 61, pioneer resident of Schleswig, died Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Gottburg Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be made in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. John Henry Krohnke was born April 13, 1879, in Morgan Township, Crawford County, Iowa, to Johann and Anna (Suckstorf) Krohnke. As a boy, he attended the rural schools. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Gottburg Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be made in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. John Henry Krohnke was born April 13, 1879, in Morgan Township, Crawford County, Iowa, to Johann and Anna (Suckstorf) Krohnke. As a boy, he attended the rural schools. On Feb. 25, 1902, he was united in marriage with Miss Christina Will, and to this union was born on son, Vernon. In the year 1905, he moved to Schleswig and purchased his father's butcher shop. For many years, Mr. Krohnke conducted various business establishments in the town until he retired. In early years, he was a member of the Schleswig volunteer fire department. About two months ago he began to suffer from the illnes which caused his death. Though he received the best of medical, hospital and personal care, he was called by death on Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, at the age of 61 years. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Christina; his son, Vernon Krohnke of Schleswig; one grandson, Verdell; and one sister, Mrs. William (Mattie) Bielenberg, of Schleswig.
