Read More	Glasco Sun, Feb. 2, 1928, page 1: Mrs. Augusta Wisinsci Studt was born February 25, 1854 in Kelpin, Kreiss Tuchel, West Prussia, Germany. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Tuchel, Germany, and remained true to the faith until her death. She lived with her mother in Kelpin, Germany until she was twenty years of age when she went to Berlin to stay with her sister, Mrs. Anna Tobald who was then living in Berlin. In the spring of 1879 she came to this country, all by herself, coming directly to Glasco, Kansas, where she worked for a short time for Mr. Karl Horn and family. On November 18 of the same year she was united in marriage with Mr. John Philip Studt, who preceded her in death almost 18 years ago. They first resided on a farm 2 miles southeast of Glasco until the year 1892 when they came to the present homestead 5 1/2 miles north of town where she remained until her death. Her health had been failing for the past two years but she was not seriously ill until in May last year, and since then she has been more or less confined. But in the last two months of her life she failed rapidly and suffered a great deal, being very patient in all her suffering and fell asleep quietly about 4 o'clock of the afternoon of January 26, 1928. Her age being 73 years, 11 months and 1 day. To this union were born 6 children, 2 girls and 4 boys, two of whom preceded her in death, one in infancy, and Philip about 9 years ago. She leaves to mourn her death, her four children Chas. and Henry who are still at home, Fred Studt of Glasco and Mrs. Anna Knight also of Glasco. Also her sisters, Mrs. Anna Tobald, and Mrs. Caroline Knapp of Glasco, 6 grandchildren and many friends in and around Glasco including many old settlers. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, always thoughtful of her family and others and a kind neighbor and friend to all and will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren and sisters. Dearest mother, thou has left us And thy loss we deeply feel; But twas God that bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. Peaceful be thy dreamless slumber Peaceful in thy grave so low, But we hope again to meet you Where no farewell tears shall flow.
