Read More	The following obituary was found in microfilm records at the Fairfield Public Library (Fairfield, Iowa) in the Fairfield Daily Journal; Monday, September 25, 1905. It is transcribed verbatim below to assist those who may be researching or are related to the Bradshaw family: "A.C.D. Bradshaw was born in Jefferson county, Iowa, May 11, 1846, and departed from this world to the beautiful home beyond, Monday morning, September 25, 1905, at six o'clock. His early life was spent on a farm in this country. Arriving at the age of young manhood, he evinced a desire to study medicine and his parents, always mindful of their children's desires, permitted him to go to Ann Arbor Medical college at Ann Arbor, Michigan. Here he worked hard and graduated from the institution with great honors on March 27, 1867. Returning to his native county he began the practice of medicine in Salina, Iowa. Here he wooed and won his excellent companion and on March 4, 1868, Miss Mary McCulley became his bride. To this union eight children were born, three of whom have preceded their father to the better land. After a most successful practice of twelve years, Dr. Bradshaw gave up the more active part of his profession, as the hard drives were already beginning to tell on his health, and the family moved to this city about 1880. Here Dr. Bradshaw immediately opened a drug store, and with him was associated Louis Thoma, who was then just beginning his career as a druggist. These two gentlemen first occupied a store building that stood where Lewis Bros.' meat market is now. Later they moved to the south side of the square and then finding their business growing, they purchased the site and erected the store building now known as Bradshaw & Jericho's drug store. For nearly thirty years Dr. Bradshaw has been one of the most prominent business men of this locality. A gentleman known and respected by the young as well as old. Always thoughtful of others, he had by his quiet, unassuming manner, endeared himself to all with whom he came in contact. In early life Dr. Bradshaw became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, of Salina, and after removing to this city, was a most faithful worker in the Presbyterian church, which denomination he later joined. He is the last of the charter members of Forest City lodge, No.37, Knights of Pythias to be called to his reward. This order realize that they have suffered a great loss in the death of this good man. He was also vice-president of the Jefferson County State bank at the time of his death. For several months past, Dr. Bradshaw has been rapidly failing. A trip to Excelsior Springs, Missouri, did not improve his health and the past few weeks his life-light has been slowly, but surely going out. Durning this time he has been surrounded by his loved ones and all that tender hands could do for him was done without avail. The Great Master called at six o'clock in the morning and the spirit of this good husband and father was wafted gently and peacefully to that home not made by hands. A loving wife and five children, John Carl, Allie, Leland, Mrs. Una Tallman and Ethel, all of this city, as well as three greatly beloved grandchildren, Carroll W. and Ruth R Bradshaw and Leland C Tallman, survive him. Funeral services will be held from the family home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Alexander Corkey and the remains will be laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery to await the great judgement." ------ Note: There is no information found in family data sheets at the Fairfield Public Library about daughter Allie. She is referred to in other obituaries as Ollie. Any clarification or additional information would be appreciated! Note: Una Margaret married Cameron C Tallman on December 25, 1902 and they lived in Fairfield for many years, then relocated to Fresno, CA. No other credible information about their subsequent whereabouts or burial location is in any of the Bradshaw files at the Fairfield Public Library. Online searches have not turned up any leads. Any clarifications would be appreciated! The Tallman family lived in Keota, Keokuk County, Iowa so perhaps they are there? Note: although the obituary above mentions eight children, only seven are accounted for in all of the family data sheets at the Fairfield Public Library. Any name and date information for this child would be appreciated, if known and can be credibly shown to be legitimate. Note: The headstone uses the September 26, 1905 date.
