Nelson Buried at Swaburg Funeral services were held at the Elim Lutheran Church in Swaburg, Monday afternoon, for Axel E. Nelson, who died at his farm home in the Argo community near Craig on Friday, July 22 at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 29 days. In failing health for several months, he had undergone an operation two months ago. The service at Swaburg was preceded with a prayer service at the Palmquist funeral home in Oakland. Rev. Drell E. Bernhardson officiated. Mrs. Alvis Petersen was organist, the congregation sang "O Jesus, Thou Art Standing" and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Monson sang "Fade, Fade, Each Earthly Joy" and "Just as I am". The remains were interred in the Argo Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Olav Pedersen, Walfrid Lindberg, Fred Linden, William Soderling, Fred Christensen and Linder Johnson. Axel Ernest Nelson was born in Sweden March 23, 1883 and came to the United States in 1911. He resided at Wausa, Oakland and Scottsbluff and for the past twenty-nine years had farmed in the Argo community near Craig. He was married at Omaha February 21, 1916 to Miss Agda Thureson, who survives him together with six children, Mrs. Lowell Anderson, of Tekamah; Mrs. Leonard Goodrich of Omaha; Mrs. Gene Fenton, of Fort Crook; William of Hooper; and Gordon and Jerry, at home; also five grandchildren. An infant daughter, Sybil, preceded him in death. Surviving also are his aged mother, and one brother and five sisters in Sweden. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Obituary - Axel E. Mr. and Mrs. John S. Monson sang, "Fade, Fade Each Earthly Joy" and "Just as I Am." Mrs. Alvis Petersen served as organist. A recessional service at the Palmquist funeral home in Okland preceded the Swaburg services. Interment was in the Argo cemetery, Olav Pedersen, Walfred Lindberg, Fred Linden, William Soderling, Linde Johnson and Fred Christensen acted as pallbearers. Axel Ernest Nelson was born in Sweden on Mar. 23, 1886. He came to the United States settling at Wausa. He also lived in Oakland and Scottsbluff and for the past 29 years had been farming in the Argo vicinity near Craig. On Feb. 21, 1916, he married Agda Thureson in Omaha. Survivors include Mrs. Nelson and six children, Mrs. Lowell Anderson of Tekamah, Mrs. Leonard Goodrich of Omaha, Mrs. Gene Fenton of Fort Crook, William of the Admah community, and Gordon and Jerry at home. He is also survived by his mother, five sisters, and one brother, who live in Sweden. An infant daughter, Sybil, precedced him in death
