She was born March 22, 1924 in Salem, Virginia, the daughter of the late Dr. William Clyde Jones and Beatrice Woods Jones. She graduated from Andrew Lewis High School, attended Mary Washington College, and graduated from Longwood College in 1945. Read More	Beatrice Jones Doss, of Lexington, Virginia, died during her 80th birthday celebration surrounded by her beloved family on March 21, 2004. She was born March 22, 1924 in Salem, Virginia, the daughter of the late Dr. William Clyde Jones and Beatrice Woods Jones. She graduated from Andrew Lewis High School, attended Mary Washington College, and graduated from Longwood College in 1945. Mrs. Doss was an active member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church where she served as a longtime choir member, a loyal member of the Women of the Church and a youth Sunday School teacher. A charter member of The Town and Country Garden Club, she served as chairman of the board of Charles W. Barger and Son Construction Company, Inc. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles W. Barger, Jr. She is survived by her husband, James V. Doss, Jr. of Lexington; her children: Leslie Barger Straub of Fredericksburg, Va.; Charles W. Barger, III and Beatrice Gail Barger of Lexington; her stepchildren: Robert C. Doss of Richmond; James V. Doss, III of Lexington; Mary D. Lackes of Gloucester; Stuart Lee Doss of Fairfax; grandson Curtis H. Straub, III of Richmond; two sisters: Aminee J. Roberts of Lexington and Charlotte J. Blaylock of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the Lexington Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Klein officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the organ replacement fund at the Lexington Presbyterian Church, 120 S. Main Street, Lexington, Va. 24450. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
