R. name Corliss), a village in the northwestern part of Johnson county, is located on the south bank of the Kansas river and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe R. R. about 19 miles southwest of Kansas City. It has a money order postoffice, several general stores, express and telegraph facilities, is the supply and shipping point for a rich district and in 1910 had a population of 161. Information from Mary Ann Bell Cannavan (Granddaughter of Mary Augusta Ball) Genealogy researchers disagree concerning the fate of Bernard B. Ball. Although Kansas State Census Collection records verify “BB” (and “Mary”) as residents of Ward 1 of Argentine, Kansas in March of 1895, the location of their final resting place is not known. All available existing records do agree on an April 25, 1896 day of death, but a thorough search of all known Kansas City area cemeteries and the eight Kansas City Catholic Cemeteries Association sites has failed to reveal either a death notice or a gravesite.
