Torberson Funeral to Be Held Saturday Lifelong Resident of Lincoln County Died Here Tuesday Death came Tuesday to Bernhard O. Torberson, 68, life long Lincoln county farmer, after a two-week severe illness. A heart ailment was the cause of his death. He had been in the hospital for almost two months and was ailing for two years. Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Canton Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. with burial at Grand Valley. Mr. Torberson was born February 19, 1880, on his fathers homestead. After reaching manhood he bought an adjoining farm, where he spent his entire life. He is a member of the Grand Valley Lutheran church and has been extremely active in township and school affairs, serving on the Lantaf district school board for 35 years and also for many years on as chairman of the township board. He had recently been re-elected but resigned because of ill health. Surviving are his widow and six children; Mrs. Bernice Micheali, Sioux Falls, SD; Mrs. Myrtle Oliver, Canton, Bryon, Brandon, and Ernest, Clifford, and Lester, all of Canton. Three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Hustel, Miss Belle Torberson, and Mrs. P.B. Brekke all of Canton and his brother, Chris, Portland, Ore., are also living. Rev. F.M. Erickson will preach the funeral sermon and Abe Oakland, Henry Lien, Harry Knorr, Clarence Oliver, Martin Holter, and Gus Chaon will serve as pallbearers.
