Description	:	Bernice C. Norden, 93, of Defiance, Ohio died peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Henry County Hospital. She was born October 29, 1922 in Ridgeville Twp., Ohio to the late Alfred and Dora (Genter) Wendt. On February 14, 1942, she married Carl G. Norden at St. John Lutheran Church, Stryker and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2008. Bernice was a devoted wife and mother who raised nine children in a loving home and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a terrific cook and wonderful baker. She was born October 29, 1922 in Ridgeville Twp., Ohio to the late Alfred and Dora (Genter) Wendt. On February 14, 1942, she married Carl G. Norden at St. John Lutheran Church, Stryker and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2008. Bernice was a devoted wife and mother who raised nine children in a loving home and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a terrific cook and wonderful baker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church - Adams Ridge and was a former member of its Ladies Aid. She was very proud of her family and deeply-loved spending her time with them. She is survived by daughters; Marsha (Kenny) Drewes, Gwen (Randy) Mekus, Renee (Tim) Roberts, all of Defiance, Ohio, Deborah (Richard) Katon of Hillsdale, MI and Michelle (Greg) Hornish of Hicksville, Ohio, sons; Michael Norden (Vivian Allen) and Terry (Kathleen) Norden, both of Napoleon, Ohio, Randall Norden (Sandy Buchhop) of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, and Tim (Linda) Norden of Defiance, Ohio, 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren with 3 more excepted, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Joyce and Judy Norden, a grandchild, Craig Osborn, and siblings, Vernon Wendt, Henrietta Knape, Lucille Craven, and Marion Kiefer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church - Adams Ridge. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or CHP Defiance Area Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.
