Description	:	Obituary: Bertha Emilie Clara Blinde, daughter of Otto Blinde and Christine Lampe was born on Good Friday, April 14, 1911, on the family farm southwest of Johnson, Nebr. On January... Read More	Obituary: Bertha Emilie Clara Blinde, daughter of Otto Blinde and Christine Lampe was born on Good Friday, April 14, 1911, on the family farm southwest of Johnson, Nebr. She was one of four children. On May 21, 1911, she was baptized in the Lutheran Faith at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson, Nebraska, by Pastor D. F. Didlaukies and was confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 5, 1925, at the same church by Pastor Wilhelm Harder. She received her education at Independence Rural School and grew up in this same community. On January 22, 1930, she was united in marriage with Ervin A. Hahn, the ceremony being performed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson by Rev. G. F. R. Duhrkop. To this union six children were born. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Hahn resided on a farm southwest of Johnson. From 1935 to 1938, they lived in Johnson, owning and operating the "Hahn Cafe". They then returned to farming for a few years. On May 22, 1956, they moved to Johnson and later became owners and operators of Hahn's Tavern for eight years. Her husband, Ervin , passed away on September 27, 1975. After his death, she continued to live in their home in Johnson. She became quite active in the American Cancer Society and served as the Johnson chairman. Her health became such that it was necessary for her to enter the hospital in May of 1977. Since that date, she spent much of the time in hospitals. She passed away at the Humboldt Hospital on Tuesday morning, June 20, 1978, having reached the age of 67 years, and 30 days. She died of Leukemia. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Phyllis Jean, who passed away January 25, 1938; one sister, Frances, and one brother, Rollie Blinde. Those left to mourn her passing are her five children; Lorraine and his wife, Dolores, of Lincoln, Iva Dell and her husband Joe Carr, of Wahoo, Ne. Gene and his wife Joyce Jean, of Omaha, Sharon and her husband Richard Hartell, of Hallam, Nebr. and Wayne and his wife Joyce Elaine of Omaha; 14 grandchildren two great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ella Knipe of Fauburn other relatives and many friends. Casket bearers were: Don Hahn, Terry Carr, Phillip Hahn, Dennis Hahn, Frank Knipe and William Knipe. Assisting with flowers were Mrs. Ervin Ostmann and Mrs. Andrew Ekhoff. Interment was in St. Matthew Cemetery, west of Johnson, Nebraska.
