During WWII, she worked at the Samsonite Factory in Denver making bomb casings. It was afterward that she met Alvin 'Bud' Lofquest of Stuart in 1947. Son Charles was born in 1948. Bud made a career out of the Air Force. As a military wife, Betty continued to work as a substitute teacher wherever Bud was stationed. In 1959, daughter Dora was born in El Paso, Texas. After retiring, Betty moved to a cozy spot three miles east of Ainsworth. Here she pursued her hobbies of sewing, gardening, and enjoying 4-H functions. Betty is survived by son Charles of Niceville, Florida; daughter Dora of Ainsworth, Nebraska; grandson Justin Lofquest and great-grandson Charles Patrick of St. Louis, Missouri, granddaughter Jennifer Strayer of Bloomington, Indiana; brother Bob Moody of Denver, Colorado; sister Ina Mae Yarges of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law Evelyn Moody of Ainsworth, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
