Description	:	Beverly Ann Prewitt, age 86 years, passed away November 22, 2017, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Beverly was born September 17, 1931, in Atlantic, Iowa, to the late Everett and Mildred (Smith) Morgan, and graduated from high school and then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls for one year. She began teaching country school from 1950 until 1954 in Hardin County, Keg Creek and Washington Township, and McClelland from 1954 to 1963. Beverly was born September 17, 1931, in Atlantic, Iowa, to the late Everett and Mildred (Smith) Morgan, and graduated from high school and then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls for one year. She began teaching country school from 1950 until 1954 in Hardin County, Keg Creek and Washington Township, and McClelland from 1954 to 1963. Beverly took one year off and began teaching kindergarten for the next 17.5 years at Underwood, and from 1981 to 1996 she taught 1st grade at Underwood. Beverly's honors include Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America in 1974, Who's Who of Teachers, Iowa Distinguished Teachers Award from the University Of Iowa in 1994. She also received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in social studies with a minor in elementary education from Dana College in Blair, Neb. in 1971. She also was a member of Eastern Star and Delta Kappa Gamma. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles, in 2015, whom she married on August 25, 1951; brother-in-law, Lon Dunn. Survivors include daughter, Cindy (Dale) Everett, of Union, Neb.; son, Kent (Jodi) Prewitt, of Council Bluffs; daughter, Janis (Tom Sr.) Stacey, of Carol Stream, Ill.; six grandchildren, Mark and Jill Everett, Ben and Brad Prewitt, Tom Stacey Jr; and Ann Stacey; sister, Norma Dunn; nieces and nephews. Visitation, Friday 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service, Saturday, 9 a.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Interment, Hardin Township Cemetery, followed by a luncheon back at Cutler-O'Neill Community Room. Memorials to the Iowa Association of the Blind.
