Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at Salem United Methodist Church in Hubbard. Burial will be in Hubbard Cemetery. Beverly Ann (Ashley) Hueser was born on April 22, 1933 in Anthon, IA. She was one of eight children born to Marvin and Dorothy (Court) Ashley. Bev attended Wolf Creek #5 Rural School, Anthon High School, where she was Valedictorian and Homecoming Queen, and Wayne State College in Wayne, NE, where she received a two year teaching certificate. On July 23, 1954, Beverly was united in marriage to Lester Hueser at the Methodist Church in Anthon. Bev taught grade school for one year at Moville, IA. She sold Avon for over 35 years and was a homemaker for most of her life. Bev was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church where she had been a choir director and member, taught Sunday school, Bible school and was the first woman to serve as trustee. She was a past president of the UMW and of the American Legion Auxiliary and member for 40 years. She was publicity chairman for the Hubbard Centennial, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Hardin County Fair Art Superintendent, Co-chairperson of the Hubbard Swimming Pool Renovation and in charge of the Hubbard Community garage sales and craft shows. Bev enjoyed many hobbies including singing, cake decorating, ceramics, oil painting, sewing, Bridge Club, playing the accordion, bird watching, camping trips and Monday morning coffee groups. She was Les' number one sports fan and critic. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Lester; daughters Cindy (Gene) Grimmius of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Terri Larson of Hubbard, and Mary Lynn Baum (fiancé Rick Miller) of Marshalltown; son Rick (Jennifer) Hueser of Bozeman, MT; grandchildren Kendra, Kami, Joelle, Dustin, Alexa, Leah, McKenna, and Jack; great-granddaughter Myah; sisters Jean (Richard) Petersen, Joyce (Cal) Gothier and Sheryl Ashley of Anthon, brothers Bill (Betty) Ashley of Mapleton, Charles (Diane) Ashley of Moville, Art (Dee) Ashley of Sioux City, and sister-in-law Connie Ashley of Merrill; along with many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Dorothy Ashley and her brother Edward Ashley. Friends may call at Salem United Methodist Church in Hubbard, IA, on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Family will be present from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
