Description	:	Graveside services for Billie "Bill" E. Amyx, 66, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence, with the Rev. Dennis Chadwick officiating. Masonic graveside services also will be conducted by Lawrence Lodge No. 6 AF&AM, along with military services by the Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion. Mr. Amyx died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1993, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born July 18, 1927, in Lawrence, the son of Shouse and Mae Alexander Amyx. He lived at Lake Dabinawa for many years before moving to Topeka in June 1991. Mr. Amyx was a systems technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and retired in 1984 after 40 years of service. He also was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Lawrence, the American Legion Post 400, Topeka, the Lawrence Masonic Lodge No. 6 AF&AM, Lawrence Scottish Rite Bodies, Arab Shrine of Topeka, Telephone Pioneers of America and Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 309, Lawrence. Mr. Amyx married Virginia Siler on May 2, 1947, in Oskaloosa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Melanie Turner, Arlington, Va.; a son, Robert L., Topeka; two brothers, Charles Sr., Bowie, Md.; and Robert Lee, Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Naomi Riggs, Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
