Description	:	Carl B. Amyx, 75, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Dennis Chadwick officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Lawrence Lodge No. 6 A.F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic graveside services. Mr. Amyx died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1992, from complications of myelofibrosis at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born March 20, 1917, in Parker to Shouse Morton and Myrtle Mae (Alexander) Amyx. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence. He lived in Lawrence most of his life and was a shift foreman in operations for the Kansas Power and Light Co., where he worked from 1947 until he retired in 1982. Mr. Amyx was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a technical sergeant with the 177th Field Artillery and served with Gen. George Patton's 3rd Army in World War II and in the Army of Occupation in Freising, Germany. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Lawrence Lodge No. 6 A.F. & A.M., High Twelve, an associate member of the Kansas University Alumni Association and the Kansas Power and Light Retirement Club. He married Alice Clayton on Oct. 5, 1940, in San Diego. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Michael, Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Marguerite Amyx Gaston, Lawrence; three brothers, Charles, of Bowie, Md., Robert Lee, Springfield, Mo., and Bill, Topeka; and three grandchildren.
