Description	:	Stratford Courier February 2, 1928 OBITUARY Mrs. Betsy Johnson Mrs. Betsy Johnson, who has for several years since the death of her son, made her home with the Jonas Angstrom family passed away Saturday of the infirmities of advanced old age. Betsy Johnson was born in Ovanåker, Sweden, May 20, 1833, and died on January 28, 1928, at the ripe old age of 94 years, 8 months, 8 days. She was united in marriage to Jonas Johnson on June 20, 1860. This union was blessed with nine children, four boys and five girls, four daughters and two sons having passed away. Read More	Stratford Courier February 2, 1928 OBITUARY Mrs. Betsy Johnson Mrs. Betsy Johnson, who has for several years since the death of her son, made her home with the Jonas Angstrom family passed away Saturday of the infirmities of advanced old age. Betsy Johnson was born in Ovanåker, Sweden, May 20, 1833, and died on January 28, 1928, at the ripe old age of 94 years, 8 months, 8 days. She was united in marriage to Jonas Johnson on June 20, 1860. This union was blessed with nine children, four boys and five girls, four daughters and two sons having passed away. They came to America with their family on March 19, 1892, locating in Stratford. The husband and father died in 1921 [1912]. She leaves to mourn her death a daughter, Mrs. Jonas Angstrom, of Stratford, two sons, P.J. Johnson, of Des Moines, and Jonas Johnson, in Sweden. Ten grandchildren are living in America. She was a member of the Lutheran church since childhood and was an upright and devoted Christian. Funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Angstrom Monday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Gunnar Goransson, pastor of the local Lutheran church. The remains were laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery. Card of Thanks We wish to hereby express our heartfelt thanks to the friends who so kindly assisted us during the illness and the death of our beloved mother and grandmother.
