Mr. LYON was born April 9, 1924, near Lockridge, the son of Robert and Valeira SNIDER LYON. He married Iris E. STRAIT Sept. 10, 1944, in Yuma, Ariz. Mr. LYON lived most of his life in Van Buren and Jeffreson (sp) counties. He was a farmer, meat cutter at Coles Grocery and Parsons College. He and his wife owned and operated Bruce's Cafe in Fairfield. He was superintendent of Evergreeen Cemetery before his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fairfield Elks Lodge No. 1192, Howard Johnson Coffee Club, and a past member of the Kiwanis Club. He was one of the first original member sof (err) the Fairfield Friendship Force. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Connie HEDGER of Fairfield; one son, Steven LYON of Stockport; four grandchildren; two brothers, Harold LYON of Davenport and Max LYON of Burlington; and one sister, Verle HALL of Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Raymond LYON; and one sister, Berniece ALLBAUGH.
