Caramine Beatrice Manley was born Dec. 15, 1896, at Fredonia, the daughter of Webster and Nancy Marvin Van Dyke. She was reared and educated in the Fredonia and Columbus Junction communities but spent most of her life in Burlington and Fairfield. She was married to Fred Manley in Fredonia. She was employed in the Coffee Shop at the Turner Hotel for many years and in food service at Burlington for over 20 years. Survivors include one son, Chester Manley, Fairfield; two daughters, Marjorie Benn, Fairfield, and Dorothy Hatt, Burlington; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Manley was preceded in death by three sons, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
