The services will be held at the Hoskins funeral home at 4 p.m. with Rev. Frank Deaver in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Manley a long-time employee at one of Fairfield's major factories, suffered a stroke on June 25 from which he never recovered. He was taken to the hospital in Burlington on July 4 and he died at 11:15 a.m. yesterday. He was born March 7, 1897, at Columbus Junction, Iowa, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Manley. He was united in marriage on October 5, 1940, to Hazel Hendricks, who survives. The marriage took place at Kirksville, Missouri. Manley was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagle, the Methodist church, and had been employed at the Iowa Malleable Iorn company for 33 years where he was foreman of the pattern room. The family home is at 1003 West Briggs street. Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Dorothy Hatt and Carroll Manley, both of Burlington; Chester Manley and Mrs. Marjorie Benn, both of Fairfield; and Ruth Ann at home. He is also survived by three brothers, George and Pete Manley, Fairfield; and Jim Manley, Muscatine; six grandchildren and eight stepchildren.
