Description	:	MINDEN — Carolyn Beth Barber, 87, of Minden died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, in Minden. Inurnment will be at 1 p.m. March 18 at Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin. All Faiths Funeral Home of Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.Her ashes will be buried beside her husband, Paul Epley. All Faiths Funeral Home of Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.Her ashes will be buried beside her husband, Paul Epley. Carolyn was born April 10, 1929, in Franklin to Clarence and Elizabeth (Garrett) Prusia. Upon graduating from Franklin Public Schools in 1946, Carolyn ventured to California for a short time to spend time with her elder sister before she returned to Franklin to rejoin her family. Carolyn was married to Paul Epley on April 3, 1949. This union was blessed with six sons. Paul and Carolyn lived most of their years in Franklin and celebrated 34 years of marriage before Paul’s passing in 1983. Carolyn worked as a teacher’s aide at Franklin Public Schools. She was also a member of Franklin American Legion Auxiliary for 55 years. Carolyn married Jim Farris in 1984 and moved to Phoenix. The untimely death of Jim Ferris in a motorcycle accident in 1987 ultimately brought Carolyn back to Nebraska in 1991 and closer to her family. Carolyn lived briefly in Minden and Kearney before she met and married Dick Barber of Grand Island in 1995. After a decline in health following Dick’s passing on Nov. 19, 2013, Carolyn moved to Fullerton. She remained there until it was necessary, due to health, to move to the care facility in Minden, where she passed from this life on Feb. 13, 2017. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Prusia; brothers, Don Prusia, Charlie Prusia, Richard Prusia and Elmer Leroy Prusia; sister, Dorothy Sorenson; husbands, Paul Epley, Jim Ferris and Dick Barber; her eldest son, Carl Epley; grandson, Dustin Epley; and her great-granddaughter, Jillian Epley. She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Jon and DeeAnn of Fullerton, Steve and Jean of Walnut, Iowa, Mike and Pam of Kearney, Joel and Donna of Columbus and Jim and Meg of Lake City, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Diane Epley of North Platte; sisters, Urva Lou Frerichs of Minden and Estelle Sorenson of Texas; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews.
