He was a graduate from Franklin High School with the class of 1914, and spent one and one-half years in the United States Army during the First World War. Prusia, was born May 10, 1894 in Franklin, Nebr. He was a graduate from Franklin High School with the class of 1914, and spent one and one-half years in the United States Army during the First World War. On October 26, 1919, he was married in Alma to Elizabeth D. Garrett, to which union were born eight children: Dorothy, Urva Lou, Elmer, Estelle Caroline, Donald, Charles, and Richard. Clarence engaged in the hardware business with his father. After his father's death he took over full ownership. Later he was employed at the City Light Plant until his re-tirement. He was very active in the American Legion, the VFW and World War I organization, and was a member of the Franklin Methodist Church since 1925. Clarence was a good musician and played in, and much of the time directed the Franklin Clown Band and the Franklin Town Band. He organized and trained the American Legion sponsored Drum and Bugle Corps for a few years. Music of every king played a very important part in his life and he gave every one of his children and many of his grandchildren an opportunity to play at least one musical instrument. Baseball always held a special place in his life. He played baseball on a school or town team for many years, then helped organize and man age a Junior Legion team for several years. In spite of very hard times, he managed to give all of his children a high school education, and most of them went on to some form of higher education. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Elmer, his parents, and one son, Donald. Surviving are his other children: Dorothy, (Mrs. Harry Swanson), Urva Lou (Mrs. Fritz Frerichs), Elmer, Estelle, Mrs. Willard Sorenson), Carolyn (Mrs. Paul Epley), Charles and Richard; his sister, Florence (Mrs. Daws Platt), 21 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. His wife Elizabeth accompanied him in death just as she was every by his side in life.
