She was married to Henry W. Nine on March 17, 1864, near Fort Jefferson, Ohio. To them were born eleven children, three dying in childhood and one after reaching manhood. The surviving children are Mrs. Elzina Puderbaugh, of near Lacona, Mrs. Minnie Roberts, of near Chariton, Mrs. Effie Roe, David L., H. C., Daniel L., of Norwood, Iowa, Jacob C., of New Virginia, Iowa. All were with her during her sickness and death. She also leaves her aged companion, thirty-three grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, John Marker, of Chariton, Iowa, Elias Marker, of Hamburg, and Mrs. Mary J. Curtis, of Norwood, Iowa. She had been a faithful member of the U. B. church for many years and died a firm believer in that faith. She was a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and a true friend, ever doing what she could to help others, regardless of self. She not only will be missed in her own home circle, but throughout the neighborhood where she ever stood ready to minister in time of need. Funeral services were held at the Norwood U. B. church, conducted by Rev. E. W. Curtis. The text of the sermon was Hebrews 4:9. Interment was in the Fletcher cemetery. The funeral was held Wednesday.
