Read More	Aberdeen American News, Friday, February 14, 2003 CECIL STANLEY BLUME Redfield --- Cecil Stanley Blume, 83, of Redfield, S.D. died Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield, S.D. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2003 at the First Congregational-United Church of Christ in Redfield, S.D. Pastor Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield, S.D. Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2003 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home. Cecil was born to Henry F. and Lydia (Rehnke) Blume on February 5, 1920 in Crandon Township, Spink County, S.D. He was baptized in the Crandon Settlement Methodist Church, where he also attended Sunday school. Later he joined the First Congregational Church in Redfield, S.D. He attended the Crandon Village Schools and graduated from Tulare High School in 1938. He joined the Odd Fellows Lodge in 1939 and held a lifetime membership in that organization. He was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Cecil married Mardyth Stanley August 9, 1960. He served as Grand Patriarch during 1965 and 1966. In 1966, he was state representative to the Sovereign Grand Lodge Encampment in Chicago. He and Mardyth visited many of the lodges in the state. He served on the Crandon Township Board of Supervisors for twelve years. Mardyth passed away in February of 1978. He later married Evelyn Sanger and they lived on the farm until she passed away in 2000. Cecil was a prominent grain and livestock farmer all his life, spending his entire farming years on the same farm where he was born. After retiring from farming he moved into the Eastern Star apartments. He loved to play cards. His favorite games were whist, pinochle, cribbage, and pitch. He spent many hours playing cribbage (18,000 games) by himself. He went to most all the church suppers in the vicinity when possible. He leaves to mourn, his sister Lucille (Albert) Nase of Centerville, S.D.; two step-sons: Richard (Judy) Stanley of Winner, S.D. and Layle (Sherry) Stanley of Lake City, Fla.; two step-daughters: Madge (Keith) Buchholz of Ingleside, Ill. and Elsie Ellis of Council Grove, Kan.; eleven step-grandchildren, eighteen step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives and six brothers: Ray, Wylie Glenn, Everett, Raymond and Harvey and one step-son-in-law DeWayne Ellis. Pallbearers will be Dwight Buchholz, Jerry Schley, Darwin Schley, Larry Stanley, Kevin Stanley, Jeff Stanley, Stanley Nase and Ricky Nase.
