Read More	d/o Sanford & Nancy Ann (Hoffman) Carder EDDYVILLE NEWSPAPER, Eddyville, Iowa OBITUARY POWERS --- Charity Powers, mother of Mrs. Lucinda Boyd of our city, died nine miles east of Chariton, Lucas Co., Iowa, July 26th, 1872, aged 74 years. Mother Powers was born in Fayette Co., Ohio, Feb. 1st, 1798. She was married to Jacob Powers October 29, 1815. The family moved from Ohio to Eddyville in 1849. March 1st, 1850, her husband died. Now she has followed him to her long home. Her sons brought her remains to Eddyville Saturday last and she was laid in the cemetery by the side of her companion. I understand that she was a member of the Christian Church, and died in the blessed hope of immortality. Peaceful be her ashes. She leaves to mourn her loss -- two sisters, two daughters and four sons, but they mourn not as those that have no hope. C. G. MILNES
