Shriner died in this city on the 30th ult (sic. died May 29, 1893)., after many months of suffering from a complication of diseases. He was a son of the late Marquis Shriner, one of a large family of children which grew up in Fairfield. Deceased was in the thirty-sixth year of his age, and was born in this city. His wife, formerly Miss Bessie Du Bois, and three children survive him (sic. there were four children who survived). Mr. Shriner had spent all his life in this vicinity, and he had a wide acquaintance throughout the county. There are many friends who knew him and his family to regret his death and extend their sympathies to the breaved ones. The remains were in terred Wednesday afternoon. Rev. G. F. Reinking conducted the funeral services, which werre held at the home of Mrs. Jane Shriner. ----------- Charles is buried in his parents' Shriner family plot in Old Fairfield City cemetery, while Bessie and their four children are buried in the adjacent Evergreen cemetery.
