Marquis Shriner died in this city February 23d, 1882, after a lingering illness. His death was caused by dropsy of the heart, and while he suffered much pain his end was comparatively peaceful and quiet. Mr. Shriner was born November, 1808, in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pa., and was consequently in the 74th year of his age.
