Son of Andrew Marker and Sarah Jane Reed OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, February 2, 1956 CHARLES MARTIN MARKER Charles Martin Marker, youngest son of Andrew and Sarah Jane Marker, was born June 2, 1875 and departed this life Jan. 22, 1956. Being in poor health for some time and lonesome since the passing of his wife four months ago, he kept his home until Tuesday morning when he was taken to the Methodist hospital in Des Moines where he passed away Friday morning. On Sept. 29, 1897 he was married to Eva Lou Retta Anderson. They moved to his boyhood home where they resided until they moved to Chariton 13 years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary eight years ago. To this union were born four children, George of Madras, Ore., Carl of Des Moines, Jerry of Holly, Ore. and Leota Peterson of Chariton. He was a sheep buyer for many years and made many acquaintances in Lucas and surrounding communities. He leaves to mourn his passing the children, 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, father and mother, four brothers, John, Ed, Bill and Dave Marker; two sisters, Mary Triggs and Melissa Hart; a granddaughter, Lavonna Jean Peterson; a great-granddaughter, Darla Kay Lohner and a great-grandson, Herbert Lee Marker. Funeral services were held in the Miley Chapel and were in charge of the Rev. J. Huber Dixon. Interment was in the Fletcher cemetery near Norwood.
