Mr. Demilt was born south of Nelson May 19, 1892, and lived his entire life in Nuckolls county (sic). He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Lunzman; and four sisters, Mrs. Henry Meyer, Mrs. Nettie Meyer and Mrs. Walter McCutchan of Nelson, and Mrs. Leland Williams of Hastings. Interment will be in the Nelson cemetery (sic), with the Rev. Lincoln Justice officiating at the services. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, November 12, 1959 ------------------------------------------- Charlie Scott DeMilt, son of James and Nancy DeMilt, was born near Nelson, Nebr., on May 19, 1892, and departed this life at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebr., Nov. 10, 1959, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 21 days. Charlie was taken to the hospital Nov. 6 after suffering a heart attack. He was united in marriage to Emma Lunzman on Oct. 15, 1913. To this union one daughter, Fern, was born. Charlie spent his entire life in Nuckolls county (sic), farming until moving to Nelson in July 1946 where he was manager of the Farmers Union Cream Station, until ill health caused his retirement. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Fern Kassebaum, and a sister, Mrs. Effie Bargen. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife and companion, Emma, two grandchildren, Wilma and Eldon Kassebaum and son-in-law William Kassebaum and wife Juanita of Hebron, Nebr., four sisters, Mrs. Ola Meyer, Mrs. Nettie Meyer and Mrs. Audrey McCutchan, all of Nelson, and Mrs. Winona Williams and an aged aunt, Mrs. Mattie Sykes of Ruskin, Nebr., several nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving husband and father and his thoughts were always with his grandchildren. He was a great friend to all little children. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Nelson Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. Rev. Lincoln B. Justice conducted the services. Interment was at the Nelson cemetery (sic).
