Charlotte Parker, wife of Erasmus Parker, died at her home at Oak Dale Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, 1911; was buried the following day at Kendall cemetery. In the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends appropriate and touching services were conducted by Rev. Lewis Parker. Lonely and sad is the dear companion and children she has left behind. She has been a constant sufferer for a year, but she bore all in patience as she did all her troubles and trials through life. Quiet and retiring though she was all who knew her can attest to her upright, honorable, noble live, kind and thoughtful to the last, thinking of others comfort always and when we were anzious to do something for her, but all was in vain and while it greived our hearts to witness her suffering and she begged so earnestly to be released, yet it is hard to give her up for there is none on this earth that will counsel, guide and cherish us with all our faults like a mother. She is at rest, the rest she has so long craved and of which we ahve not the least doubt she has attained. Though the sad days too come will seem lonely and the years long let not our tears be shed only in loving rememberance of our sainted dead. May her loved ones have that hope that looks beyond the bounds of time when what they now deplore shall rise in full immortal prime and bloom to fade no more, and may the Father in heaven comfort the broken hearts in this the saddest and hardest trial of their lives. I would not live always, I ask not to stay Where storm after storm rises dark o'er the way. The few lucid mornings that dawn on us here Are enough of life's woes, disappointments and tears. M.L.S.
