Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Creek, Nebraska. Christian William Hansen was born September 20, 1896, in Loup City, the son of Nickalous and Pauline (Jung) Hansen. He received his education in the Loup City schools. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War I from 1918 to 1919 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He married Mildred E. Benson on August 30, 1925, in Silver Creek, Nebraska. He worked with the civil service and also with the post office for 41 years as assistant postmaster, until retiring in 1963. They had no children. Mildred preceded him in death on December 2, 1999. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters, Matilda Baker, Anna Waggoner and Gertrude Tyler and five brothers, August, Otto, William John and Lawrence Hansen.
