The Brown County World, p8, col.5 Fri Feb 12, 1892 Clarinda Chase. Mrs. Clarinda Chase died Saturday of the grip, at the home of her son, Thurston Chase. She was born in 1810 and moved with her parents to Indiana when quite young. She was married to Isaac Chase in 1828. Mr. and Mrs. Chase moved to Iowa and then to Kansas in 1835. She was converted and joined the Methodist church at 15 years of age, and was a consistent member of that church during her years of struggle and toil, and when the Master called he found her ready. She was a member of the first Methodist class formed in Brown-co. She was mother of ten children, four of whom had gone before her to the other side of the mystic river. Six still live to mourn the loss of a kind and Christian mother.
