The fifth and eighth grade classes attended the Mass and formed an honor guard. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Drobney was born May 20, 1920 in Pocahontas, the son of Albert and Pauline Drobney. He attended Sacred Heart school and Pocahontas Public High school. One Oct. 26, 1942 he was married to Miss Amelia Kopriva in SS. Peter and Paul's church. The couple resided at Omaha, Neb., Houston and Fort Worth, Tex., before coming to Pocahontas to make their home. At the time of his death, he was an assistant in the furniture department of Hemker's store. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Sunday, Feb. 22, and died a short time later in Mercy hospital at Fort Dodge. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Linda, 13, and Jean, 10, his father Albert Drobney and one brother, DeLoss Drobney. An infant son receded him in death. Relatives and friends who came from a distance to attend the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Ross Tribner, Omaha, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Shore, Clarinda; Ernest Elsesser, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Ron Theesfeld, Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Theesfeld, Curlew; Mr. and Mrs. John Theesfeld, Estherville; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Green, Fort Dodge.
