She Was Born At Marion Station 76 Years Ago Mrs. Cornelia Gibson Dryden, who resided for many years on Main street in Crisfield, died at the City Hospital in Alexandria, Va., Saturday morning. She was carried to the hospital the previous day, suffering with a cerebral hemorrhage. Her death came nine years after the death of her husband Frank Dryden. She was 76 years of age. Mrs. Dryden was born at Marion in 1869, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H. Gibson. She had been making her home in Alexandria since 1936, and before moving there, was active in church work here and in the civic affairs of the community. She and her husband were familiar figures in the city, and had a host of friends who are grieved at her passing. She was a devout member of the Baptist faith. Funeral services were held at the Bradshaw Funeral Parlors Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by the Dr. J. Yancey Fincher, assisted by Rev. J. N. Triplett and Rev. Charles M. Elderdice. Interment was in the Crisfield cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Howard Coleman, of Alexandria, Va., Mrs. L. L. Ashburn and Mrs. Irving Carpenter, of Bethesda, Md., two brothers, Mr. Walter L. Gibson, of Palm Beach, Fla., and Mr. William E. Gibson of Crisfield, and one grandchild, Wm. L. Ashburn.
