Description	:	Daniel Vincent Stuart, 88, of Bucklin and formerly of Garden City, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita. He was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Ford, to Roy V. and Lula E. Jones Stuart. He grew up in Ford and graduated from Ford High School and Fort Hays State University. During World War II, Mr. Stuart first served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps and later served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. He lived in Harper County, where he farmed, from 1946 to 1965. He was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Ford, to Roy V. and Lula E. Jones Stuart. He grew up in Ford and graduated from Ford High School and Fort Hays State University. During World War II, Mr. Stuart first served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps and later served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. He lived in Harper County, where he farmed, from 1946 to 1965. From 1965 to 1985, he worked for Kansas Job Services, starting this career in Dodge City as a farm representative and later moving to Hutchinson where he was a farm representative and labor market analyst. In 1974, he moved to Garden City and was the office manager for Kansas Job Services. He served as the office manager in Dodge City after moving there in 1976 and later became the western Kansas area supervisor for Kansas Job Services before his retirement. He moved to Bucklin in 2002. Mr. Stuart was a member of First Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge, both at Attica, a lifetime member of Lions Club International, and a charter member of Boothill Lions Club, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all at Dodge City. On Dec. 26, 1942, he married Ruth Gill in Medford, Okla. She survives. Other survivors include a son, James C. Stuart of Bucklin; a daughter, Dana C. Stuart of Liberal; a sister, E.J. Corder of Bullhead City, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford Community Church, Ford, officiated by Lori Riegel, pastor. Burial will be in Ford Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by Julius F. Troehmel Post No. 269 of the American Legion. Garden City Telegram 2/4/08
