Description	:	Daphine "Jim" Brettmann, 93, of Denver, Iowa passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Denver Sunset Home in Denver. Daphine Gladys Brettmann was born on April 29, 1917, the daughter of Rudolph and Elda (Fagenbaum) Busch in Readlyn, Iowa She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Readlyn. Daphine graduated from Waverly High School and attended State Teachers College (now UNI) for two years. Following her education, she taught school for three years. Daphine Gladys Brettmann was born on April 29, 1917, the daughter of Rudolph and Elda (Fagenbaum) Busch in Readlyn, Iowa She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Readlyn. Daphine graduated from Waverly High School and attended State Teachers College (now UNI) for two years. Following her education, she taught school for three years. On May 26, 1939, she was united in marriage to Clarence Brettmann at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Denver, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and doing ceramics. Daphine was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Flower Club. Survivors are her son, Tom (Nancy) Brettmann of Denver, Iowa; daughter, Sally (Lyle) Happel of Waterloo, Iowa; five grandchildren, Terri (Kevin) Huber of Denver, Tracy (Anthony) Lumetta of Cedar Falls, Shawn (Robert) Buhrow of Denver, Dana (Mark) Cooley of St. Louis, Missouri and Amber (A.J.) Sween of Indianola; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren and by a brother, Rudy (Wanda) Busch of Denver. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence on December 8, 2000; 2 sisters, Janice and Luetta Kehe; one great granddaughter and by one great grandson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Denver with Pastor Craig Radden Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Denver. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver and also an hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.
