Description	:	David Henry Clemenson was born Oct. 17, 1929 in Graettinger, IA. He was the son of Chris & Alma Clemenson. David went to school in Graettinger, Iowa. He worked the family farm until he joined the Army and served in the Korean War. After he was discharged from service, he worked at John Morrell. Read More	David Henry Clemenson was born Oct. 17, 1929 in Graettinger, IA. He was the son of Chris & Alma Clemenson. David went to school in Graettinger, Iowa. He worked the family farm until he joined the Army and served in the Korean War. After he was discharged from service, he worked at John Morrell. On October 25, 1954, he married his sweetheart Marlene Daniels, whom he had met at the outdoor roller-skating rink in Estherville, IA. David & Marlene lived with her parents until 1959, when they moved to their farm between Emmetsburg & Cylinder, and raised their family. They grew corn, soy beans, oats and alphapha, and they raised cattle, pigs, chickens, and ducks. David was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Post 2295 of Emmetsburg, Iowa. In 1978, they built their dream home on Five Island Lake. David & Marlene farmed until 1996, at which time they retired. David enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, playing cards and the V.F.W. fish fry's. He especially enjoyed his morning walks, coffee with friends and watching the grandkids grow. They enjoyed decorating their home & yard with lights at Christmas. David started dialysis in February of 2008 and continued enjoying life even though the last 2 years were medically challenging. He had strong love & support from his family, who were all at his bedside when he left us peacefully on Friday, March 5th at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. David is survived by his wife, Marlene, of 56 years; children Nancy and husband Terry Glenn of Peoria, AZ, Doug of Ames, IA, & Jeff and wife Darcy of Long Lake, MN; grandchildren: Ashley and husband Matt Pelzer(with first Great-grandchild on the way), Abby, Lindsey, and Jaxon; 4 step-grandchildren Taylor, Blake, Heather, and Brandi; and sisters: Norma Chermack & June Perkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Michael, brother Paul, and sister Phyllis Hagebock.
