Description	:	Marlene Ann Daniels was born November 23, 1933 in Terrill, IA. She was the daughter of Noel and Rosella (Rose) Daniels. She had an older brother Weldon. Marlene graduated from Estherville High School and went on to work at John Morrell. On October 25, 1953, she married her sweetheart, David Clemenson, whom she had met at the outdoor roller-skating rink in Estherville. She was the daughter of Noel and Rosella (Rose) Daniels. She had an older brother Weldon. Marlene graduated from Estherville High School and went on to work at John Morrell. On October 25, 1953, she married her sweetheart, David Clemenson, whom she had met at the outdoor roller-skating rink in Estherville. Marlene & David lived with her parents until 1959, when they moved to their farm between Emmetsburg and Cylinder, and raised their family. They grew corn, soy beans, oats and alfalfa, and they raised cattle, pigs, chickens, and ducks. Marlene is a former member of St John Lutheran Church in Depew, and a current member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. She was also a long-time member of the Sarah Circle. In 1978, they built their dream home on Five Island Lake. They farmed until 1996, at which time they retired. Marlene enjoyed watching birds, gardening, playing cards, & meeting friends at Joyce's deli for morning breakfast and afternoon coffee. She had a large collection of Snow Village items that she took much pride in and loved to sit and look at. And they enjoyed decorating their home and yard with lights at Christmas. In their younger years, she and David enjoyed taking motorcycle rides and going dancing. But, Marlene's greatest joy by far came from being with family. She and David attended football, baseball, and basketball games; band and sing choir concerts and parades, to watch their kids; and T-ball, softball, and basketball games to watch their grand kids. Marlene also did volunteer work at the Palo Alto County Hospital and worked part-time at Joyce's Food Pride. Marlene and David left their Emmetsburg home in 2008 and moved to Minneapolis to live in assisted living near their son, Jeff. After David died in March, 2010, Marlene moved down to Des Moines to be near her son Doug and grand-daughters. She lived at Kennybrook Village where she passed away the morning of Sunday, August 31, 2014. Marlene is survived by her daughter Nancy Clemenson of Des Moines, IA; son Doug Clemenson and Shel of Ames, IA; son Jeff Clemenson and his wife Darcy of Long Lake, MN; grandchildren Ashley and husband Matt Pelzer, Abby and husband Calvin Day, Lindsey, and Jaxon; 2 step-grandchildren Taylor and Blake; and 4 great-grandchildren Eva Rose, Caleb, and new twins Gannon, and Grady. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, brother Weldon, and husband David. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Burial is in Valley View Cemetery, Graettinger. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
