Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Korean Veterans of America.Surviving are his wife, Joanna; five daughters, Sally Dimmitt, Terrie (Jeff) Evans, Judy (Brian) Kennedy, Millie (Barry) Beggs, all of Ottumwa, Eden (Mike) Stotts of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; a son, David (Liz) Dimmitt Jr. of Ottumwa; adopted son, William Lewis Dimmitt of Ottumwa; 31 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Wilkinson of Marshalltown.He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Tallman and Dorothy McLaughlin; six brothers, Ralph, Robert, Paul, James, Donald and infant Wayne Max Dimmitt.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Pentecostal Assembly of God with Rev. Richard Schlotter and Rev. Bill Iammatteo-Code officiating. Burial will be in Round Point Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday.Memorials may be made to Ottumwa Community Outreach Center.
