Lillian Delores Bittner was born on December 24, 1918, in Mills County, the daughter of Raymond and Lillian Hammond McPerron, and she received her early education in the Glenwood Schools. On April 8, 1944, she was united in marriage to Howard Bittner, in Port Angeles, Washington. Delores went with her husband, living in many places from coast to coast, as he served as an officer in the Armed Forces. Col. Bittner had served nearly 30 years at the time of Delores' death on September 4, 1971, in Riverside, California following an illness of approximately 6 months. Delores will be especially remembered by many for her artistic talents in dress designing, painting and ceramics. Surviving her are her husband; one sister, Mrs. Garland Runyon of Blair, Nebraska; four brothers: Kenneth McPerron, Boise, Idaho, Fieldon McPherron, Clarinda, Iowa; Newton McPherron, and Leonard McPherron, both of Seattle, Washington, a sister-in-law, Neta McPherron, Ventura, CA; other relatives, and many friends.
