Delcena, daughter of Frank and Sarah Harrison, was born near Woodburn, Iowa on July 16, 1864 and passed away at her home at 623 Park street in Osceola, Iowa, Tuesday, November 9, 1937, aged 73 years, 3 months and 25 days. She grew to womanhood in Clarke county, On March 16, 1880 she was married to Starling Holt. To this union four children were born, two of whom preceded her mother in death. They were Harley, who died at 35 years in 1890 and Virgil who passed away on September 27, 1937. The surviving children are Mrs. Guy Funck of Osceola and Luther Holt of Chicago, Ill. Other surviving relatives are five grandchildren, Mrs. W. G. Bester of Harlan, Iowa, Gene Funck of Osceola and Marilyn Aubrey and Marion Holt of Chicago; two half sisters, two half brothers, her step mother, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Virgil Holt and other more distant relatives. She was united with the Church of Christ in Sac county, Iowa in 1890 and transferred her membership here in 1914. She was a member of the Loyal Daughters class of the church. Until ill health forced her to remain at home about two years ago, she was an active member of the church and Sunday school. She loved to read the bible and flowers were her particular pleasure.
