Transcribed as published by Karen Brewer The Osceola Tribune, Osceola, Iowa February 6, 1945 Services for Starling Holt Funeral Was Held Sunday Afternoon Here. Funeral services for Starling Holt, well known resident who died Jan. 31, were conducted from the Webster Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, Feb. 4, 1945, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Miller of the Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery, near Jay. Starling Holt, son of John and Ava Holt was born in Lucas county, Iowa, on December 8, 1860 and passed away at his home in Osceola on January 31, 1945 at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 23 days. He was the youngest of eight children all of whom preceded him in death. He was married to Delcena Harrison on March 16, 1886 and she passed away on November 9, 1937. To this union 4 children were born, namely; Harley and Virgil, deceased; Mrs. Catha Funck of Osceola; and Luther of Bronson, Michigan. Besides the children mentioned he leaves 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 1 great-granddaughter, and many relatives and friends. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Most of his entire life was spent in Clarke County. His passing will be felt by all who knew him. The obituary was contributed by Ken Baker, (47764854).
